I recently sat down with Axonis CEO Todd Barr. We wanted to cut through the AI hype and figure out what it will actually take for enterprises to escape experimentation and deliver real production outcomes that transform businesses. Most enterprises stall on pilots and prototypes that hit data silos, compliance, and security barriers.
The core challenge? Connecting critical data to AI while preserving control and trust. Most initiatives fail here.
Our insight: robust Edge AI infrastructure from Axonis plus a deep-seated bench of experts across business and technology - an ecosystem that ignites AI adoption and customer success at scale.
Imagine what your team could achieve when it can actually trust every AI-assisted decision and know that every AI-assisted decision and implementation will be better than the last. It's a powerful flywheel effect.
Keep reading to see how we make it real.
One of the first things Todd emphasized in our conversation was how misleading progress in AI can look today.
It's incredibly easy to create something that looks impressive. A prototype comes together in hours. A demo gets everyone excited. But too often, that's where it ends. Todd was direct about it:
"We need to get away from rapid prototyping and really move to showing a rapid prototype of operationalizing these solutions."
Most prototypes don't survive the enterprise. They hit real-world data challenges, compliance barriers, security restrictions, and complex integrations.
That's what I call the "false advertising of AI". You get a polished demo that impresses users and feels seamless. Then production begins. No access to critical data. The CISO flags major security risks. EU AI Act compliance fails. The initiative stalls completely.
As Todd and I discussed, this is exactly where the model breaks down, and where partners change the game. They build what actually works. They shape ideas into operational solutions that fit real business constraints.
"It's the prototype and the substance, the sizzle and the substance. And Partners know how to operationalize it" Todd Barr
We mapped out what a working model actually looks like in practice.
Picture the Axonis partner community as a flywheel in motion. Each turn builds momentum, turning individual strengths into unstoppable enterprise transformation.
Alone, each piece delivers value. Together, they spin the flywheel faster. Every success fuels the next. Execution rooted in deep domain know-how. Decisions sharpened by experience. Implementation that masters real-world constraints.
As I put it in our discussion, "Partners, champions, and ambassadors, we need to turn all of them on in parallel because each of them are actually codependent and feed on each other as well." This flywheel does not just accelerate AI adoption. It sustains it.
Todd and I were hashing out a new strategy when it hit us: "Who do we know who can validate this, tell us what we're missing, and how we get it to production?"
Customers want more than tech. They want Trusted AI Champions in the room. Battle-tested experts who cut through theory, spot risks early, challenge weak ideas, and make AI production-ready. As CXO, you balance huge opportunity against compliance or security disasters. These are your LinkedIn feed guides and private 1:1 advisors.
Edge AI Ambassadors complete the picture. Architects and engineers at the business frontline tackling infrastructure limits, data sprawl, regulations, and deployments. Todd said it: "These are the people thinking about how to architect this so it actually works, not just how to make it look good." They turn vision into reality.
To bring it all together, Todd connected this model directly back to how Axonis thinks about decision intelligence. What makes the Axonis ecosystem model powerful is not just the roles themselves, but how they come together.
Every implementation informs the next. Every lesson improves execution. Every success accelerates future outcomes.
Todd connected this directly to Axonis’ technology approach: “Once you can capture decisions as data, you can observe them, optimize them, and improve them. Every decision becomes an input to make the next decision better.”
The same principle applies here.
This is a flywheel. Not just of technology, but of people and experience working together underpinned with trust.
